I've read the book, rid the house of any "nasties" - so today is "D" day!
I weighed myself first thing and whilst I'm not willing to share, it wasn't as bad as it could have been, I am (WAS!) 13lbs lighter than my heaviest ever weight, so that's a small bonus to start with.
I've not actually found it too bad, the only thing I'm not liking is my banging head, which I think is from caffeine withdrawal. Not quite sure as a Mum of 4 where I am now meant to get my energy from but I guess I will find something.
Also started C25K today with my eldest daughter, it sounds so easy, but I very nearly vomited up my stomach ... I am told it gets easier, I bloody hope so!
I've not stopped today and all I want to do is sleep, nut my little boy is back to school tomorrow so there is uniform to be washed ......
Less chunky, more monkey ...

The eagle has landed !!!
Well, OK, when I say eagle, I mean my book and when I say landed, I mean the postie knocked on the door - but you get my drift!
So far I am at page 38, it's compulsive reading and a real eye opener! I am beginning to realise why I have failed before on calorie counting diets. This lady appears to be a genius! Obviously, the proof of the pudding will be in the eating (hmmmmm, maybe not the best analogy?!).
I'm sure you will forgive me for rushing off and not being around so much, but, I have a book to read !!! :)

*stamps feet and screams in temper*
Yes, you've guessed it, my books didn't turn up.
However, not only have they not turned up, they are no longer on their way. Mr Ikon had an e-mail advising we had been refunded the cost of the books, this puzzled me, as when I tracked my order on Monday it said they had been dispatched 2nd class. Upon checking today, my order could not be found. Gutted.
I have now purchased the books from The Harcombe Diet website so am confident that they should now be with me by next week and enable me to read the books and digest the info ahead of "D" day on 5th Sept.
More diet "preparation" today - emptying the freezer of all the ready meals I have purchased, hoping to replace this with cut price meat and fish when I go shopping next!

'lil ole wine drinker me ....
... well, to be precise, it's Magners, but you get my sentiment.
Yes, a slave to my cause and STILL on the "preparation" phase for the diet. This is involving riding the house of any alcohol that I will drink and Mr Ikon won't - remove the temptation !!
Sadly, having 4 children means I cannot rid the house of all naughty foods but I CAN buy the things that I don't like (mainly anything involving marzipan or almond flavouring *yak*)
Am like a kid at Christmas when the postie walks up the path at the moment, if no book arrives tomorrow I CAN promise a massive grown woman, full on strop !!
Now, where did I put that drink ........

The best things come to those who wait ....
So, I've not even started my new regime and already I have decided to put back "D" day !!
I think the reasons are quite valid though! This weekend we are seeing friends we haven't seen for 5 years - "Oh no, no wine for me, I'll just sip my decaf tea with no milk ..." - pretty unrealistic, eh?!
The following weekend is my birthday, so I think the best thing is to wait out these two events and start the week the kids go back to school. I'll also be in more of a routine then * stifles giggle* so in theory better placed to eat sensibly and exercise ... well, that's the theory.
Speaking of exercise, I have been intrigued by Fat Bird and her C25K training, so, I have discussed with my nearly teen daughter and we are going to start doing this together! I figure it will be nice for us to have something of our "own" to do and it will be setting her good habits to take regular exercise, we'll see, but so far we are both MEGA excited about it!
I have been doing diet "prep" (buying reduced meat and fish and sticking it in the freezer!) and my books were posted today, can't wait to get them and get ready.
I'm actually feeling REALLY positive, let's hope it continues, eh?!

So, here's the thing....
.... I'm fat.
I have been for most of my life.
Yes, I've had slim phases (usually when a relationship has ended and the weight just dropped off me, I love my hubby just a bit too much to divorce him to lose weight though) but it's always gone back on. Like most women it's a constant battle.
I recently found a revolutionary new way of losing weight .... getting pregnant of all things. Yes at 41 weeks pregnant, I weighed 2Kg LESS than before I fell. Then of course I managed to breastfeed for 5 weeks and lost a bit more. I got into skinny jeans for the first time in my life!
However, my husband isn't keen on me getting pregnant again just to shed a few (ok, a lot of) pounds, he seems to think that 4 kids is more than enough - spoilsport! :p
So, I have had to find something else to try.
I have done Weightwatchers and Slimming World in the past with varying degrees of success but a dear friend of mine recently told me about "The Harcombe Diet". From what I have read it appears to make a lot of sense, so, I have ordered my book and waiting for it to arrive so I can start!
Oh and sorry for the jelly beans background, I guess that tells you something about my sense of humour, being that this is a weight loss blog!
